In
our continuing quest to update our chase pages, we've now included a
relatively small storm chase in August 2007, in which we played with
convergence lines in South Devon. Our chase log includes images and
a video from the day's action. Please find the report in our chase
section.

Our
first UK storm chase of 2009. A small low developed over central England
on the 15th June, and as temperatures rose to the low 20s Celsius storms
developed countrywide. Some of the most lively storms were in East Anglia
and London. The EOTS team were on the chase and caught rain, hail, lightning
and stunning cloud formations and some timelapse. The
video can be found in our video
section.

The
most spectacular snowfall in parts of north Surrey for nearly 50 years
brought the whole of south London to a standstill on the 2nd of February.
Over a foot of snow completely buried the region and the EOTS team were
living in one of the hardest hit areas. We've put together a substantial
video log of the snowfall event from start to finish, split into two
high-definition episodes. Both of these videos can be found in our video
section.

After
having our last camcorder destroyed by the worst storms that Florida
could throw at us, it was time for the EOTS team to invest in some new
video equipment. We've now entered the exciting world of high definition
video (HD) and, using HD WMV video files, you can watch HD video on
your computer (provided it's powerful enough). To celebrate our plunge
into this new world of video, we've uploaded two videos from the past
couple of months, showing wonderful scenery and thick, white frost.
Both of these videos can be found in our video
section.

Our
regular look back at the year's weather has returned and this time it's
the turn of 2008. It was a year of superb weather events, together with
some major disappointments. Our review includes 45 photographs of our
most memorable 2008 weather moments and can be found in our events
section.

A
bit of catching up is going on at the mo and we've just added a short
timelapse video of the snow on the 6th April melting in the grounds
around our flat in Leatherhead. That such a volume of snow could melt
in such a short space of time was as impressive as the snow itself.
The video can be found on page 6 of our video
section.

Slowly
but surely we're adding and updating many of our storm chase logs from
years gone by. This time, we've put a photographic log online in our
chase
section,
following some amazing thunderstorms which hammered in across East Anglia
in July 2006.
There's more! We've added several new videos to our video
section, including storm chasing, snow chasing and other bits 'n' bobs!

As
the UK summer continues to be a disappointment for many, we've decided
to revert to winter mode here on EOTS, by adding some archive snowfall
and frost images to our gallery. A few have been added to page 5 and
more on pages 6 and 8, which can be viewed in our snow
& ice section.

Our
storm chasing trip to Florida is now over and we've completed our blog
from the event. Complete with hundreds of photos from the chase, we've
also uploaded a highlights video showing the best of Florida's storms.
All this can be found in our chase
section

It's
been a while since the site was last updated and there's been lots going
on behind the scenes. We're made a few new additions to the site today.
These include a photographic look-back at 2007, a year memorable for
snowfalls and floods, and is housed in our events
section.
We've also updated a number of videos, including the March Severn Bores
of 2007 and 2008, the superb stratospheric sunrises and fog of February
2008, and the landfall of ex-hurricane Gordon, all of which can be found
in our
video
section.

As
2007 was such a quiet year for storm chasing, we've been going backwards
in time to some of the superb chases of 2006. Our first report is now
up in our chase
section, which documents a short but interesting chase in June 2006.

>added
26th August 2007
We've
now added our amazing journey through heavy snow, when we ventured from
London to northeast Wales in February 2007. This was one of the most
widespread and heavy falls of snow in these parts of the world for years.
Please visit our snow
& ice section for numerous photos of this snowy deluge.

8th August 2007
A
convergence line developed across south Devon through the day, triggering
showers and thunderstorms. We've uploaded a timelapse video into our
video
section, showing some of the day's developments.

>added
10th July 2007
Nearly
a year ago, a powerful and violent thunderstorm unleashed chaos on Weybridge
in Surrey. The storm dropped an astonishing amount of rain and gave
near continuous lightning. This event has now been photo-documented
in our chase section.

>>Skycam
update:
We've now added all of June's Skycam timelapse videos and decided upon
12 of the best to store online. June was a very unsettled month and
the Skycam caught some interesting stuff, including a potential mesocyclone
and lots of passing showers.

It's been a while since the site was updated but
we're pleased to announce that, after a long period of downtime, the
Eots Skycam is up and running for 2007. This includes our daily timelapse
videos of passing weather conditions which are now being recorded in
Exeter, Devon. Please visit our Video>Skycam links for the current
view.

Two lowland snowfalls across southern England
were the highlights of late January and early February 2007. Shortly
after the snow had disappeared, the EOTS team investigated some huge
damage to trees in the mountains of north-east Wales, making some interesting
discoveries! For photos and reports of the snowfall events, please visit
our snow
& ice section and for the wind damage, please visit our
events
section.

>added
21st January 2007
We've added a new video in our video
section, following the destructive storms which raged across England
and Wales on the 18th January. The short video clip shows the force
of the 75mph gusts, as it tears a large branch off a nearby tree.

With 2006 drawing to a close in spectacularly
stormy fashion, how did the year shape up in terms of weather for the
EOTS team? In this, the third edition of our annual look-backs, we've
put together a photographic account of the most amazing weather events
during 2006. The report can be found in our events
section.

>added
22nd December 2006
As high pressure became stationary across the
UK, fog set in across southern and eastern parts. We've now included
a photographic account in our events
section, which shows some of the fog, ice and rime over the prolonged
wintry period. We have also uploaded a large video file of the fog banks
rolling around the South Downs, which you'll find on page 5 of our video
section.

>added
4th December 2006
A new photographic report has been added to the
chase section, documenting a thunderstorm
which produced severe-hail across Weybridge and the surrounding area.

>added
10th November 2006
A short timelapse video clip of a magnificent
sunset on 5th November 2006 has been added to the video
section, followed by some timelapse footage of the full moon.

We have a brand new, and more importantly, functional

It's getting to that time of year again when rain
can start to fall as that white stuff! With no sign of any snow on the
UK horizon at the moment though, the EOTS team thought we'd bring some
snowfall cheer by uploading our snow galleries.
Please visit our gallery section for a hundred wintry pics.
>added

Our Skycam timelapse archive has been updated
to include
all videos recorded in June, July and August 2006.

The EOTS site changes continue, and around 60%
of the site is now up
and running in the new format. We hope you like!
We've
added a full length video of our Dee bore chase, in which we raced the
wave from the Dee estuary right into the centre of Chester.
Please visit page 4 of our video section.
