A
view northwards from Craig Cwm Amarch is stunning. Beyond the near horizon
are the peaks of the Lleyn Peninsula, behind the waters of Cardigan Bay.

Now
ascending the flanks of Penygadair, the 791m peak of Craig Cwm Amarch start
to look smaller and smaller!
The
seaside town of Barmouth, together with famous railway bridge, as viewed
from the western flank of Penygadair.
Summit
reached! At 893m above sea level, the peak of Penygadair is marked with
an OS trig-point. Dad and Beej seem pleased to have arrived!
...and
just to prove I was there too ;-)
The
descent took us around the eastern side of Llyn Cau. Here, our route can
be easily traced, ascending the ridge to the left of the lake, around the
head of the lake to the summit of Craig Cwm Amarch, then across the top
of Penygadair on the ridge of this image.
A
long walk for an old man! Beej sleeps during the journey home after a great
day's walking!
A
final view of Cader Idris, as we travelled along the coast road home.
