Eye on the Sky has been running for a number of years now, and in that time, has undergone a number of changes and updates. This page displays just some of the graphics and functions that have been used on the site between 2001 and the present.

> previous banners

November 2001 - July 2006
The first banner appeared when EOTS went from a single-page design, to one which utilised frames. The glowing orange and blue writing (the original colour scheme which remains today) was overlayed onto a panaramic shot of snowfall in north Wales.

June 2002 - November 2002
Between December 2001 and June 2002, the EOTS new banner consisted as the above, but without national flags. The flags were then added for a short time. This banner used the same text as the 'snowscene' banner, but was overlayed onto a sunset shot near Conwy, north Wales. The sun was designed to glare through the 'O'.

November 2002 - July 2006
The 'retro' banner combined the latest 'EOTS' tubular logo text, overlayed onto four individual photographs which were digitally altered. The 'Cooltext' 'Eye On The Sky' was the layed centrally on top to finish this rather busy banner release. This has been the longest-running banner logo to date.

July 2006 - present
The current, and most simple banner to date, uses the purple-blue tubular text first seen in the previos banner logo.

July 2006 - present
Between November 2001 and July 2006, EOTS was based in a framed website. This included a left-frame, where navigation links were located. Above are two of the backgrounds used in these frames. The background sunset appeared in November 2001, but was replaced by the lightning background in November 2002. The simple blue background then appeared in the major redesign in November 2002.

>layouts

November 2002 - July 2006
Sporting the 'retro' banner, purple side-bar and mono-blue flash buttons, this was the layout of the EOTS site prior to the current. The top and sidebars were fixed in frames, and remained put, with all other content opening in the mainframe. The Java based raindrop animation would continue to splash away in the top left frame.

In the beginning, the 'Eye On The Sky' logo was the most graphically intensive part of the site! It hasn't changed at all since EOTS started in 2001, although it has undergone some alterations for certain occasions. The 'snow-cover' logo tends to appear around Christmas time, whilst the 'Travel' logo is still used in our travel and outdoor section. The EOTS logos have regularly appeared as backgrounds in the Java based animations.

These Java-based animations have been a regular occurance on EOTS, and the main logo has taken punishment. Heavy snow has fallen, thick fog has masked the logo, rain and lightning and pounded away, and the logo has been flooded and lit up too!
