In a moist, cold Northerly airflow, the gas fired power-station in Connah's Quay formed this huge condensation cloud from its towers, which in turn became a hefty shower!

Famous with weather lovers anywhere, Capel Curig is a small village in Snowdonia, which is frequently the wettest place in England and Wales. Don't believe us? Then next time it rains, watch the weather forecast! In early January 2005, it received nearly 200mm of rain in just two days!

Perhaps quite premature given the time of year, these scrubland fires begin raging out of control near Llandegla. Here, two seperate fire sites throw thick smoke high into the air.

Adding to the original haziness, the smoke from the bush fires triggers its own sunbeams, as the sun sets in the western sky. I had to move round about now, as the smoke became trapped under an inversion and almost choked me!
